We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected engineering consultancy for a Structural Engineer with a minimum of 3 years' UK consultancy experience.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and technically strong team working on a diverse portfolio of projects across the residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, retail and infrastructure sectors. The successful candidate will gain exposure to both new-build and refurbishment schemes, ranging from bespoke developments and residential housing projects through to schools, logistics facilities, commercial buildings and major infrastructure-related developments.

The Role

As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of structural engineering solutions on a varied portfolio of projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing structural designs, calculations and technical reports.
  • Designing structures in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber.
  • Undertaking structural assessments, surveys and site inspections.
  • Liaising with architects, contractors, developers and other design professionals.
  • Assisting in the management and delivery of projects to programme and budget.
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
  • Supporting senior engineers and contributing to the development of junior team members.
  • Attending client and design team meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years' structural engineering experience within a UK consultancy environment.
  • Experience delivering building structures projects from concept through to construction.
  • Strong technical knowledge of structural design and analysis.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard structural design software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Desirable

  • Progressing towards Chartership with IStructE or ICE.
  • Experience working across multiple project sectors.
  • Client-facing experience and an understanding of project coordination.
