Civil Engineer
Location: Leeds
Salary: £30,000-£40,000
A leading, UK-based multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join their growing Infrastructure team in Leeds.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of development-led infrastructure projects, delivering across the entire project lifecycle — from early feasibility and planning submissions through to technical design and site support.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative and agile team environment, with the chance to take real ownership of design delivery while also contributing to the development of junior team members.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing drainage strategies, SuDS reports, and engineering calculations for planning and design stages
- Produce designs and technical drawings from concept through to construction, including highways, drainage, and earthworks
- Support the design of pavements, earthworks and associated infrastructure, including producing specifications
- Ensure quality of work through internal QA processes and technical review
- Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, clients and contractors to secure approvals and coordinate input
- Attend sites to support during the construction stage – including inspections and handling contractor queries
- Support and mentor junior engineers, contributing to team growth and capability
Your Background:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Working towards or recently achieved chartered status (e.g., ICE)
- Experience delivering design for development infrastructure – including drainage, SuDS, highways, and earthworks
- Comfortable working across multiple project stages and disciplines
- Proven ability to liaise with stakeholders, architects, and contractors
- Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroDrainage
- Experience with Civil 3D or PDS is advantageous
