An excellent opportunity is available for a mechanically biased Building Services Engineer to join a growing building services and sustainability consultancy in London.

This role is well suited to an engineer looking to progress their career, offering exposure to a wide variety of projects across the UK and internationally. You’ll gain experience across sectors including residential, commercial, healthcare, education, and retail.

The Role

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of innovative, low-carbon building services solutions, taking on a range of responsibilities including:

  • Leading HVAC design across multiple projects
  • Developing concept designs for mechanical and electrical systems
  • Working closely with sustainability and energy teams
  • Producing technical reports and presenting design solutions to clients
  • Attending client and design team meetings
  • Undertaking site inspections and M&E condition surveys
  • Supporting lifecycle costing and value engineering exercises
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships

About You

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Sustainability, or a related discipline
  • 2–4 years’ experience within a building services consultancy
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design within the built environment
  • Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance
  • Experience producing drawings and technical specifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Confident communicator with client-facing experience
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable experience includes:

  • Basic understanding of electrical design
  • Energy and sustainability reporting at planning stage
  • Net zero and ESG strategies
  • Dynamic simulation modelling (TM52, TM59, TM54)
  • SAP and SBEM modelling
