Head of Finance

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to take on a Head of Finance role with a company that is well established and will be able to provide an interesting work environment. You will act as the gatekeeper of the company’s finances and maintain the integrity of the financial systems. The role will maximise shareholder value by identifying cost reduction opportunities, improving, and managing financial systems, finance workflows and processes. It will provide ongoing financial insight to the business by regular reporting and financial planning for all budgeting and strategic finance and IT related activities. The role will advise shareholders on all company financial matters.

Your skills, experience and attributes

• Experienced in payroll and accounting software
• Excellent knowledge of financial software and Excel
• Ability to manage and motivate staff
• Able to communicate with all levels of staff
• Accurate with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise workload and have sense of urgency
• Willingness to help others
• Builds relationships and engenders trust
• Well organised and methodical
• The Financial Controller must be CIMA or ACCA qualified.

• Monitor and report on finance team KPI’s
• Payroll, VAT returns and nominal Ledger
• Cash Book and bank accounts
• Foreign currency transactions
• Purchase ledger
• Credit control
• Divisional accounts
• Budgets and management accounts
• Financial planning for business strategy
• Cash flow forecasts
• Pension set up and administration
• Period end postings
• Preparation of year end accounts to trial balance
• Management of the IT provision and support
• Negotiation with suppliers
• Carry out team appraisals and set objectives
