Structural Engineer

Our client, a well-established and highly respected engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their growing Structures team based in Hemel Hempstead.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with 4+ years’ experience to join a forward-thinking consultancy delivering a wide range of residential and refurbishment projects, including both new build and historic structures.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Designing structural solutions for residential projects, including new build and refurbishment schemes
• Working on historic and existing buildings, providing practical and sensitive engineering solutions
• Preparing calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports
• Undertaking structural inspections and site surveys
• Producing condition reports and recommendations for remedial works
• Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants
• Managing projects and ensuring delivery to programme and budget
• Supporting junior engineers where appropriate

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in structural engineering consultancy
• Strong experience working on residential structures
• Experience with new build and/or historic buildings
• Good knowledge of UK building regulations and design standards
• Experience carrying out inspections, surveys and report writing is highly desirable
• Proficiency with relevant structural design software
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to manage workload and projects effectively
• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
