Are you an experienced Rural Planner with a passion for the countryside, sustainable development, and making a real difference in rural communities?

We're partnering with a leading design and business consultancy based in Telford that specialises in delivering innovative planning, design, and development solutions across rural and semi-rural areas. As they continue to expand their planning team, they’re looking for a Rural Planner who can combine creativity with commercial awareness and a strong understanding of rural policy and land use.

The Role:

As a Rural Planner, you'll be supporting a wide range of rural development projects – from farm diversification schemes and estate planning to rural housing and heritage sites. You'll work closely with landowners, developers, and local authorities to deliver planning solutions that are both commercially viable and environmentally sensitive.

The Rural Planner will:

• Manage and deliver rural planning applications from inception to approval
• Provide strategic planning advice to clients across rural sectors
• Engage in site appraisals, feasibility studies, and planning statements
• Liaise with local planning authorities and stakeholders
• Keep up to date with planning legislation and policy, particularly in rural and green belt areas

The ideal candidate will have:

• Be MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership
• Have a background in rural or town planning (public or private sector)
• A Strong knowledge of UK rural planning policy and legislation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence working independently and as part of a collaborative team
• A genuine interest in the rural environment, development, and sustainability
