A well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Ashford is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of building structures projects across Kent, the South East, and the wider UK. This position offers increased technical responsibility, client exposure, and a clear pathway toward Principal level.

Projects range from local schemes in Ashford and Kent to larger developments across the South East.
The Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Leading the structural design and delivery of buildings projects
Producing and checking calculations, reports, and technical documentation
Coordinating with architects, clients, and contractors
Supporting junior engineers through technical guidance and mentoring
Managing project workloads, deadlines, and fee awareness
Ensuring designs comply with UK standards and best practice
You will remain hands-on with design while gradually taking greater ownership of project leadership and client relationships.
About You
5+ years’ experience in a UK structural engineering consultancy
BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
Working toward or recently achieved Chartership (IStructE or ICE)
Strong experience designing building structures (steel, concrete, timber, masonry)
Confident taking responsibility for projects and technical decisions
Good commercial awareness and communication skills
Based in or able to commute to Ashford (or willing to relocate)
Full UK driving licence
