Cheltenham or Fully Remote

Salary Up to £45,000

 

The Opportunity

As a member of a scrum team, your primary focus is developing and ensuring that quality is built into our product by working closely with the Product Owner and other stakeholders. Communication, technical knowledge, and coding ability are key skills needed for this role.

How you will deliver

• Plans, designs, codes, tests, corrects, and documents programs based on requirements, specifications, and designs.
• Works with team members and other staff to elicit requirements in the form of user stories and other artefacts.
• Uses technical skills, existing understanding, and experience to develop solutions to conform to agreed standards, patterns, architectures, and constraints.
• Questions established standards, patterns, architectures & tools and discuss changes needed with other developers and raise them with senior colleagues.
• Maintains regular discussions with test analysts to keep all parties apprised of changes, to understand the risk areas and so to help focus and improve testing.
• Works with other team members to facilitate the Build & Release capability.
• Tracks down and resolves bugs in applications often working with Technology and other staff to isolate the problem.
• Keeps up to date with technologies and practices through on-the-job training, interaction with co-workers, and self-learning.
• Consistently writes easily testable code.
• Understands the testing pyramid writes unit and higher-level tests. Always tests edge cases, for errors and happy path.
• Approaches all work with a security lens, seeks higher-level guidance on security implications
• Ensures tasks are appropriately sized to enable continuous integration and incremental delivery.
• Acts according to task prioritisation, user stories and epics, and understand dependencies.
• Understands and can create CI/CD, infrastructure as code.
• Supports junior members of the team.

Your skills and experience

• Relevant work experience and knowledge
• Experience coding in multiple languages
• Experience in C# and SQL 
• Knowledge of SDLC

Nice to have

• 2 + years of experience
• Highly proficient in SQL and C#
• Experience in .Net, MVC, Entity Framework, JavaScript, Postman, API, Azure, Terraform
• Experience of any of the following: Unicode, UTF8, XML, XSLT, XSD, Refactoring, Design Patterns, Oracle, TFS, TDD, Continuous Integration/Delivery, Use Cases, User Stories
• Experience gathering and analysing user requirements.
