About the Role

Ballywater Supply Chain Recruitment is seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading transport and warehousing company based in Dublin. This is a pivotal role, responsible for driving commercial growth, optimising profitability, and ensuring long-term client relationships in a highly competitive sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals and market trends.
  • Client Relationship Management: Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients while identifying new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
  • Pricing and Contracts: Oversee the preparation and negotiation of pricing models, contracts, and tenders to ensure competitive yet profitable offerings.
  • Operational Alignment: Collaborate with transport, warehousing, and operations teams to ensure service delivery meets client expectations and contractual obligations.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct regular market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the commercial team, setting clear objectives and performance standards.
  • Revenue Growth: Drive initiatives to maximize revenue and profitability across all services offered.
  • Reporting and KPIs: Monitor and report on commercial performance, including revenue, profit margins, and client satisfaction metrics.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in a commercial management role within the transport, logistics, or haulage sector.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
    • Excellent financial acumen, including pricing and budgeting.
    • Proficient in market analysis and trend identification.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Irish and EU haulage market, including regulations and compliance.
  • Technology: Familiarity with transport management systems (TMS) and CRM tools.
  • Other: Full, clean driving license and willingness to travel for client meetings.
