This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer with 3+ years of industry experience to join a successful and growing engineering team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a broad portfolio of challenging projects across the residential, commercial, industrial, education and healthcare sectors, including new-build developments, refurbishment schemes, structural alterations and regeneration projects.
Working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary design teams, you will be involved in projects from initial feasibility and concept design through to detailed design, construction and completion. This role offers excellent technical variety, exposure to modern construction methods and the opportunity to further develop your career within a supportive and professional environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will be involved in the design, analysis and delivery of structural engineering projects from concept through to completion. You will work on a diverse range of structures, providing practical and innovative engineering solutions while ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing structural designs and calculations using a range of materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
- Preparing technical reports, specifications and supporting documentation.
- Undertaking site visits and structural inspections as required.
- Coordinating with architects, contractors and other design professionals.
- Assisting in the delivery of projects to programme and budget.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant design standards and regulations.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of engineering solutions and project delivery.
- Supporting senior engineers and mentoring junior team members where appropriate.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years' structural engineering experience within the UK.
- Experience working on building structures projects.
- Strong understanding of current British Standards and Eurocodes.
- Competent user of structural analysis and design software.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Progress towards Chartered status (IStructE or ICE).
- Experience across a variety of project sectors.
- Client-facing and project coordination experience.
