A well-established and highly respected multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their thriving Edinburgh office.

Based in a vibrant city centre location, the team is made up of a diverse mix of engineering disciplines, offering a collaborative and dynamic working environment with exposure to projects across the UK.

The Role

This is a key senior position, responsible for the delivery and project management of electrical building services design across a range of projects.

The successful candidate will act as a lead consultant on projects, providing technical expertise across M&E disciplines, while also overseeing junior engineers and supporting their development. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services across multiple projects
• Develop electrical strategies and concept designs (RIBA Stages 1–3)
• Produce detailed electrical designs and specifications (Stage 4)
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, and quality standards
• Act as the main point of contact for clients and design teams
• Prepare and present technical reports and design solutions
• Supervise and mentor assistant and apprentice engineers
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery
• Attend client meetings and represent the business in a professional capacity
• Oversee post-contract activities including site inspections and installation reviews

Technical Expertise

Strong experience with industry-standard software is expected, including:

• AutoCAD & Revit
• Amtech/Trimble & Dialux
• Bluebeam
• PVSol
• Microsoft Office suite

About the Candidate

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Working towards (or keen to achieve) Chartered status
• Proven experience in project delivery and electrical design within a consultancy environment
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and client-facing skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively
• Commercial awareness and understanding of project cost control
