Senior Structural Engineer | Port Talbot 

We are working with a well-established engineering consultancy in Port Talbot, specialising in industrial and commercial projects, who are looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead projects, take ownership of designs, and contribute to a growing, supportive consultancy.

Role Overview

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and delivering structural engineering projects from concept through to completion. You will work primarily on industrial and commercial schemes, collaborating with clients, contractors, and multi-disciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead structural design and delivery of industrial and commercial projects

  • Act as primary point of contact for clients and project teams

  • Produce and review detailed calculations, drawings, and technical documentation

  • Mentor and support junior engineers and CAD staff

  • Attend site visits, inspections, and client meetings

  • Coordinate designs with other disciplines and contractors

  • Contribute to business development and project planning

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MSc or equivalent)

  • 6+ years’ experience in structural engineering consultancy

  • Chartered or working towards Chartership (Institution of Structural Engineers / Institution of Civil Engineers)

  • Strong experience with industrial and commercial projects

  • Confident in project management, technical design, and client liaison

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Desirable:

  • Full UK driving licence
