Junior Civil Engineer/Civil Engineer
York or Edinburgh - Hybrid – 2 Days per Week in the Office

£35,000 - £45,000

An established and growing engineering consultancy is looking to add a Junior Civil Engineer / Civil Engineer to its team, with opportunities available in either York or Edinburgh.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their technical experience within a supportive team, working on a variety of civil engineering projects and gaining exposure to design, modelling and infrastructure solutions.

The Role

You'll work alongside experienced engineers on a range of projects, contributing to the development of civil engineering designs from concept through to detailed design.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing civil engineering drawings and designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Supporting the design and modelling of infrastructure and site development schemes
• Undertaking cut and fill / earthworks calculations and modelling
• Assisting with levels, grading and site layout design
• Preparing technical drawings, plans and documentation
• Working closely with senior engineers and other disciplines
• Developing your technical knowledge and gaining greater responsibility as you progress

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Some experience working within a civil engineering design environment
• Good CAD experience, particularly Civil 3D
• Experience or understanding of cut and fill / earthworks
• A willingness to learn and develop technically
• Good communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team

Candidates with a couple of years' experience are encouraged to apply, but the role could also suit a recent graduate with strong Civil 3D and CAD experience.
