Role Overview
Calm under pressure. Endlessly patient. Genuinely invested in giving young people a better shot at life. If that sounds like you, Blue Recruitment Personnel wants to hear from you — we're recruiting a Residential Support Worker for a brand-new children's residential home in Cheltenham, and this one's urgent.
This home is built around trauma-informed care for young people navigating complex emotional and behavioural challenges. It's not an easy role, and we won't pretend otherwise — but it's one where the impact you make is real, immediate, and lasting.
What You'll Be Doing
Building trust and genuine, professional relationships with the children and young people in your care
Providing day-to-day care and supervision within a residential setting
Helping young people build routines, engage with education, and develop life skills
Working to individual care plans while upholding the highest safeguarding standards
Keeping clear, accurate daily records and incident reports
What You'll Need
Experience in residential childcare or youth work
A Level 3 Diploma (or willingness to work towards one)
Comfort with a rota including 2 sleep-ins
A full UK driving licence
Full right to work in the UK — please note sponsorship isn't available for this position
Why This Role
A salary of £34,000, the chance to be part of a brand-new home from the ground up, and the satisfaction of genuinely changing a young person's trajectory. Not every job lets you say that.
