We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to join a medium sized multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in the centre of London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical discipline on assigned projects from concept through to completion.
  • Provide technical leadership, innovation, and expertise in building services design.
  • Guide and oversee the development of complex mechanical systems and engineering solutions.
  • Lead, mentor, and support engineers, graduates, and apprentices, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced and delivered to programme, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining effective financial and resource control.
  • Liaise directly with clients and key stakeholders to understand requirements and develop practical design solutions.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to identify and resolve multidisciplinary engineering challenges.
  • Support the development and implementation of technical standards, best practices, and quality procedures.
  • Monitor and apply document control and design management procedures.
  • Identify and develop new project opportunities and potential revenue streams.
  • Ensure all project work is delivered in accordance with company processes, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Work towards or maintain Chartered Engineer status through a relevant professional institution (CIBSE, IET, IMechE, or equivalent).

  • Proven experience within mechanical building services engineering.
  • Strong technical design and project delivery capabilities.
  • Experience leading projects and managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and project financial management experience.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.
  • A commitment to mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Working towards, or already holding, Chartered Engineer status.
