Building Physics Consultant

Manchester (Hybrid Working)
£40,000 - £45,000 

A well-established and forward-thinking multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Building Physics Consultant to join their Manchester team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative environment where sustainability and building performance are at the core of project delivery, offering exposure to a wide range of sectors and technically challenging developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver building performance modelling and analysis across a range of projects
  • Carry out dynamic simulation modelling to inform design decisions
  • Support Part L compliance and energy strategies
  • Undertake overheating assessments (TM52 / TM59 / Part O)
  • Contribute to operational energy modelling (TM54)
  • Produce technical reports and sustainability documentation
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, and clients
  • Support the integration of low and zero carbon technologies
  • Ensure project delivery meets quality standards and deadlines

Technical Expertise

Experience with the following is highly desirable:

  • IES VE (essential)
  • SBEM for Part L compliance
  • Dynamic simulation modelling
  • Daylight and thermal comfort analysis
  • Understanding of UK Building Regulations and guidance

About the Candidate

  • Degree qualified in Building Physics, Environmental Engineering, or similar
  • Experience in a building physics or sustainability consultancy role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and client-facing abilities
  • Ability to manage workload across multiple projects
  • Passion for sustainability and low-carbon design
