Structural Engineer – 3–5 Years’ Experience | Edinburgh | Hybrid
I’m currently working with a growing multidisciplinary consultancy who are looking to bring an experienced Structural Engineer into their team.
With around 200 employees across the UK, the business works across a wide range of public and private sector projects and has built a strong reputation for collaboration, technical excellence and professional development.
The Role:
Structural design of buildings, bridges, foundations and industrial structures
Structural inspection, assessment and refurbishment
Design using British Standards and Eurocodes
Reinforced concrete and steel design
Undertaking structural analysis and determining loading
Preparing calculations, reports, drawings and technical documentation
Attending site visits and supporting construction projects
Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants
Producing practical and constructable design solutions
Supporting more junior members of the team where required
Contributing to tenders, proposals and business development
What They're Looking For:
Around 3–5 years’ relevant structural engineering experience
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Strong understanding of structural design principles
Experience designing in steel, reinforced concrete and other materials
Knowledge of relevant British Standards and Eurocodes
Experience with structural analysis/design software
Exposure to structural inspection, assessment or refurbishment
Good report writing and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Working towards professional qualification with IStructE or ICE
Temporary works experience and mentoring experience would be advantageous but are not essential.
