Civil Engineer
Cardiff or Bristol 

£35,000 – £50,000

An employee-owned multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Civil Engineer to join its Cardiff or Bristol team. The role is suited to someone with between 1 and 5 years' experience, looking to broaden their technical skills across a varied project portfolio.

The Role

The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative civil engineering team, contributing to design and delivery across a mix of project types and scales. Responsibilities include:

• Producing civil engineering designs, calculations, drawings and specifications
• Working on highways and drainage design across a range of schemes
• Developing designs using Civil 3D and other relevant software
• Preparing technical reports and supporting documentation
• Carrying out site visits, surveys and inspections
• Liaising with clients, contractors, highways authorities and other stakeholders
• Supporting senior engineers on larger, multi-phase projects

About You

• An accredited Civil Engineering degree or equivalent
• Between 1 and 5 years' post-graduate experience, ideally within a consultancy
• Highways and drainage experience is ideal
• Familiarity with Autodesk Civil 3D; exposure to InfoDrainage or similar would be an advantage
• Working knowledge of relevant UK regulations, standards and design guidance
• Working toward professional membership (e.g. ICE) is desirable
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
