Our client are looking for an optimistic, driven individual to join their ever growing team as a Traffic Planner.

Based in Holmfield, Halifax our well established, local Client are a privately owned business operating fundamentally in the import, storage, sales and distribution of wood based panel products. The company stocks a wide range of unique and specialist panels in addition to readily available commodity products.

Due to high demand in the company and further expansion over the last 25 years, our client are officially ready to locate another dedicated member to join their expanding team.

Role Purpose:  

To take responsibility for timely traffic planning of scheduling delivery times and to ensure that the customer receives a good service, also to support the Warehouse Manager to ensure company's targets and objectives are met.

This job description describes the main responsibilities of the role; however, it is expected that people will undertake any other duties as required commensurate with their skills and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficient planning and optimisation of delivery routes for the company’s own fleet of vehicles.  
• Communicate with customers, suppliers, drivers, and the internal sales team to ensure smooth running of the operation of deliveries and collections.
• Taking incoming calls and handling any queries or issues. 
• Communicating with the line Manager with regular updates. 
• Maintain the timeliness of scheduled deliveries.
• Constantly work to improve processes.
• Monitor vehicle capacity to ensure vehicles are loaded safely and are not over/ under capacity. 
• Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements particular Health and Safety regulations.
• Make suggestions for productivity improvements.
• Developing relationships with Customers, Suppliers and Hauliers.
• Analysing and interpreting data on vehicle performance, fuel efficiency and more.
• Preparing reports on the above.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of warehouse processes.
