Global Reward Director
Permanent | £90,000 - £125,000 base + 16% bonus | Hybrid, London (2 days a week in the office)

I'm working with a purpose-led global health and life insurer on a senior reward role, and it's a brilliant one for someone who wants to own reward strategy at a business that is growing fast.

They've just completed 2 acquisitions in the US, with more growth to come, so reward is right at the centre of things. You'd set the global reward strategy, bring more consistency across every market, and lead the reward side of acquisitions and integrations.

It's a lean team. You'd have 2 direct reports, a Reward Lead and a Payroll Manager who runs the payroll team, so payroll is about oversight and governance rather than running it day to day. The real focus is global reward.

What you'd be doing

  • Setting and evolving the global reward strategy, linked to the business's growth plans and People strategy
  • Building a globally aligned reward framework, with consistent principles and governance across markets
  • Leading reward workstreams on acquisitions and integrations, including due diligence and harmonising reward in acquired businesses
  • Owning salary structures, incentive plans and benefits globally, and advising on executive and senior leadership pay
  • Running the annual reward cycle: salary reviews, incentive planning and benchmarking
  • Modernising compensation planning with better technology, automation and analytics, moving away from spreadsheets
  • Setting a clear approach to fair pay and pay transparency
  • Keeping UK payroll compliant and well governed through your Payroll Manager
  • Working closely with senior leaders across People, Finance and Legal

What they're looking for

  • Senior reward leadership experience across multiple countries
  • Strong experience in salary structures, benchmarking and reward design
  • Reward work on acquisitions, integrations or harmonisation
  • Deep knowledge of compensation, incentives, executive remuneration and benefits
  • Familiarity with benchmarking data such as WTW or Remchannel, and HR systems such as SuccessFactors
  • Confidence influencing executives
  • Someone happy to lead a small team and still get stuck into the detail
  • Consultancy (WTW or similar) or financial services experience would be a real bonus, and an experienced Head of Reward ready for the step up would also be considered

What's on offer

  • £90,000 - £125,000 base plus 16% bonus
  • Pension with employer matching up to 6%
  • Private health insurance, a personal health fund and wellbeing support
  • Life assurance up to 4x salary
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Hybrid, 2 days a week in the London office
  • Open to part-time (3 to 4 days) for the right person

The process is 3 stages, including psychometrics and a presentation at second stage. First interviews are on 16th November, so they are moving quickly.
