The Role
 An established and growing engineering consultancy in London is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join its expanding infrastructure team. This is a key role within the business, offering the opportunity to lead on the design and delivery of civil engineering projects across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of infrastructure schemes, including highways, drainage, and external works.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and calculations in accordance with UK standards and regulations.
• Design surface and foul water drainage systems (including SuDS) and undertake flood risk assessments.
• Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and approval agencies (e.g. S278, S38, S104 processes).
• Oversee and coordinate project teams to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.
• Review and approve technical work produced by junior engineers and technicians.
• Attend client meetings and provide technical guidance throughout project lifecycles.
• Support business development activities, including preparation of fee proposals and bid submissions.

Essential Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in civil engineering within a consultancy environment.
• Strong background in highways and drainage design for development projects.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D (or similar), and MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage.
• Experience working with UK design standards and local authority approval processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring or overseeing junior staff.
