The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll take ownership of the mechanical design and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with clients, design teams, and fellow engineering specialists. You'll be trusted to provide technical leadership, drive project success, and contribute to the continued growth of a collaborative and ambitious business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the mechanical design and delivery of high-profile residential and commercial projects.
- Developing innovative, sustainable, and technically robust building services solutions.
- Managing projects through all stages of design and construction, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Acting as a key client contact and building strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Mentoring and supporting engineers, graduates, and apprentices, helping them reach their full potential.
- Collaborating with electrical, public health, sustainability, and structural teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company quality procedures.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of technical standards and best practices across the business.
About You
We're looking for an ambitious and driven engineer who enjoys both technical delivery and team leadership.
You'll ideally have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years' consultancy experience within the building services sector.
- Proven experience delivering residential and commercial building services projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical design principles, and UK Building Regulations.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing client relationships.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A genuine passion for mentoring and developing junior engineers.
- Chartered Engineer status, or be actively working towards chartership through CIBSE, IMechE, IET, or an equivalent professional institution.
