We’re working with a highly respected, design-led engineering consultancy to recruit a Geotechnical Engineer for their growing London team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking practice delivering complex, high-profile projects across the UK and internationally.
The Opportunity
You’ll play a key role in a developing geotechnical team, working closely with senior leadership while taking ownership of your own projects. The position offers a diverse workload—from temporary works and earth structures to deep basements and foundation solutions for major developments, including tall buildings.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver geotechnical design solutions across a range of projects and sectors
- Prepare and review reports, specifications, and site investigation plans
- Design foundations (piled, raft, piled raft) and assess soil–structure interaction
- Support deep excavation and retaining wall design
- Undertake geotechnical analysis using industry-standard software
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, and bridge engineers
- Contribute to sustainable design approaches, including embodied carbon considerations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Support project delivery to agreed timelines and budgets
About You
- 3–5 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering (consultancy or contractor background)
- Strong technical grounding across foundations, earthworks, and excavation design
- Experience using tools such as Plaxis (2D/3D), Oasys, Slope/W (or equivalents)
- Confident communicator with strong report-writing skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Familiar with UK design standards and project stages
- Working towards or already holding ICE membership (desirable)
- A proactive mindset with the confidence to take ownership of projects
