Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services

Location: Solihull

Salary: £50,000 - £58,000

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? A reputable consulting and engineering firm is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking engineer to join their Solihull-based Building Services team. You’ll play a key role in delivering innovative, sustainable, and technically excellent mechanical design solutions across a diverse range of projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading the design of HVAC, heating, ventilation, and other mechanical systems from concept to completion.
• Producing detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Managing and mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical excellence across the team.
• Liaising directly with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
• Supporting the development of sustainable and net-zero carbon design strategies.

What we’re looking for:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Chartered status (CEng) or working towards chartership.
• Strong experience in mechanical design within a building services consultancy environment.
• Proficiency in design software such as IES, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
