Flood Risk Consultant

The Role
As a Flood Risk Consultant, you will support a variety of flood risk and drainage projects across residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors. The role offers exposure to a wide range of technical work and the opportunity to collaborate with experienced specialists.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), drainage strategies, and associated reports

• Assist with hydraulic modelling, GIS analysis, and data interpretation

• Contribute to SuDS designs and surface water management plans

• Support senior consultants on multi-disciplinary projects

• Communicate with clients, local authorities, and internal teams

• Help ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high technical standard

About You
We are seeking a candidate with:

• 1–3 years’ experience in flood risk, drainage, hydrology, or a related field

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Hydrology, or similar

• Knowledge of flood risk policy, planning guidance, and SuDS principles

• Experience with relevant software (e.g., GIS, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, hydraulic modelling tools) – desirable but not essential

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• A proactive, enthusiastic approach and willingness to learn
