KG Direct Hire are pleased to be supporting a London civil engineering business with the recruitment of a Permit Officer. 

About us: 

We are a multi-discipline contractor, specialising in full-service highway and public space maintenance, improvement and construction; delivering services to London Boroughs, Local Authorities and the supply chain. Our core services include road surfacing, reactive maintenance, highway maintenance, highway engineering, surface treatments, winter maintenance, bridge installation,  structure maintenance, cliff stabilisation, gully cleansing, traffic management, street lighting, emergency call outs, road marking, and urban redevelopment.   

Key accountabilities: 

•    Raise Permit applications as per works descriptions for submission to Highways Authority

•    Applying for third party permissions/consents (eg. TTRO’s, Temporary Traffic Signal Applications, Bus Stop Suspensions/Diversions (if required)

•    Check, track, and report on permit status (grants, modifications, comments, inspections)

•    Monitor and mitigate FPN’s (Fixed Penalty Notices)

•    Maintain daily trackers and reports.

•    Liaise with Project Managers and Supervisors regarding proposed works, update & maintain schemes programmes and permit trackers.

•    Attend and minute programme meeting (as required)

•    Work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the business, advising on permit related queries.

•    Data management using Teams

Personal specification: (ideal)

  • Strong understanding of NRSWA, TMA and LoPS
  • Knowledge of EToN systems (Street Manager, Confirm Mayrise etc (training will be given)
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and facilitating the permit application process
  • Ability to work closely with a range of stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload and, able to work within a team environment, providing resilience when required.
  • Good communication skills
