Associate CDM Consultant

London – Hybrid

£50-£60k + Car/Car allowance 


The Opportunity 

We are looking for an Associate CDM Consultant to join an expanding CDM Consulting team. You will either be based from home or have occasional office visits. You will have an opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects with Blue Chip developers. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious person with drive, enthusiasm, and a good knowledge of design and construction-related activities and the designer's duties to develop the Principal Designer role.

Our client, delivers projects across a variety of niche sectors, from residential housing developments, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, advanced manufacturing, data centres, energy, and more. They assist clients to harmonise design drivers through inspired engineering, architecture, and development services. 

How you will deliver

As an Associate CDM Consultant, you will lead on a range of projects including commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure schemes where your health & safety construction knowledge will be used in the development of those projects. You will act as a primary point of contact for day to day communication with clients, consultants, and contractors.

  • Ensure full Project Delivery
  • Delegate and work collaboratively with Principals and Senior Consultants
  • Use your own initiative and demonstrate independent working
  • Collate and be able to validate designer’s and contractor’s risk assessments based on sound health & safety knowledge relevant to the role 
  • Co-ordinate and manage project work completed by junior colleagues
  • Report Writing
  • Review of consultants’ and contractors’ design proposals and health & safety mitigation measures 
  • Lead project/client meetings and undertake site inspections as required
  • Line manage and mentor junior staff, providing advice and guidance to share technical expertise
  • Commercial awareness and cognisance of cost/time, budget implications


Your Skills and Experience 

  • Must have Principal Designer Experience 
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Background of Health and Safety within a construction environment
  • Understanding of the design process and its relationships with site activities
  • Working Knowledge of the CDM Regulations, company will supplement additional training needs
  • NEBOSH National certificate in construction health & safety or occupational health & safety
  • Associate membership of IOSH 
  • One-year health and safety experience
