Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services

Location: Harrogate 

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000

An independent building design consultancy is looking for an eager and experienced Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Harrogate.

You will take a key role in the delivery of electrical design services, working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop efficient, sustainable, and innovative building services solutions.

Key responsibilities:

• Designing electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarm, security, and data installations
• Preparing design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
• Supporting energy-efficient and low-carbon design strategies
• Liaising with clients, architects, and contractors throughout the design and construction process
• Assisting in project delivery from concept through to completion
• Using design software such as Revit, Amtech, and Dialux/Relux

What we’re looking for:

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in a building services design role
• Working knowledge of relevant standards and building regulations
• Proficiency in electrical design and coordination using modern software tools
• A proactive approach, strong communication skills, and attention to detail
• Progress toward (or interest in pursuing) Chartered Engineer status with the IET or CIBSE
