Senior/Principal Sustainability Consultant 

Location: London

Salary: £50,000 - £75,000 DOE

We are looking for a passionate Senior or Principal Sustainability Consultant to join our client’s London-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of sustainable design and decarbonisation, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on innovative projects across the built environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver small-scale projects independently.
  • Facilitate workshops with clients and design teams, communicating complex ideas clearly and confidently.
  • Carry out a range of modelling and technical analyses, potentially including: embodied carbon, circular economy studies, building performance simulation, operational energy assessments, renewable energy generation, and overheating analysis.
  • Manage environmental assessments (BREEAM, WELL, HQM, etc.) from concept to completion.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear, timely and collaborative project delivery.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior team members.
  • Contribute to achieving net-zero whole-life-carbon outcomes on projects.
  • Prepare design deliverables such as specifications, drawings and schedules.

What we’re looking for:

  • In depth knowledge and experience of: Energy strategies, Building Regulations Part L assessments (Elmhurst / IES), BREEAM and HQM assessments, NABERS UK,
  • Hold a relevant degree and possess specialist expertise along with a strong personal commitment to sustainable design.
  • Ability to perform dynamic thermal modelling, comfort assessments and overheating risk appraisal
  • Communicate clearly, work proactively and demonstrate genuine enthusiasm for sustainability.
  • Feel comfortable leading sustainability workshops and engaging confidently with multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Knowledge of net-zero carbon strategies and embodied-carbon analysis
