£35,000 – £45,000 

An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its growing Birmingham office. This opportunity is suited to candidates who are currently based in the Birmingham area and are looking to develop their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking consultancy.

The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of civil engineering projects, producing detailed designs and supporting projects from initial concept through to construction. The role offers exposure to a variety of developments across sectors, providing excellent opportunities for professional growth and career progression.

The Role

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Producing civil engineering designs for a range of development projects.
  • Designing highways, drainage and external works in accordance with current standards.
  • Preparing technical reports, calculations and engineering drawings.
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Supporting projects through planning, detailed design and construction stages.
  • Attending site visits and design meetings where required.
  • Ensuring work is delivered to agreed quality standards and project deadlines.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a civil engineering consultancy undertaking design work.
  • Knowledge of drainage and highway design principles.
  • Experience using industry-standard software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage or Causeway Flow.
  • A good understanding of UK design standards and regulations.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A desire to continue developing professionally, with support towards chartership if required.
