Associate Director – Town Planning
Edinburgh

£60,000 – £75,000 + bonus + benefits
 

Our client is a nationally recognised planning consultancy with a network of offices across the UK is looking for a driven Associate Director to help lead their planning team and progress into the director role in the near future. 

You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring junior staff, securing new business, and working closely with Directors on long-term strategy.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading and managing complex planning projects from inception to delivery
• Preparing and reviewing planning applications, reports, and appeals
• Acting as key client contact and developing lasting relationships
• Representing the business at planning committees, public inquiries and hearings
• Supporting business development and contributing to strategic growth plans
• Mentoring and developing junior team members

What We’re Looking For:

• MRTPI qualified (essential)
• Strong consultancy or client-side experience (ideally 8+ years)
• A proven track record of delivering planning consents and managing complex schemes
• Commercial awareness and confidence in business development
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
• Local market knowledge of Scotland, particularly Edinburgh and the Lothians, is advantageous
