A leading independent environmental consultancy is looking to expand its specialist acoustics team with the appointment of an experienced Acoustic Consultant. The Role

As an Acoustic Consultant, you will be a key member of the environmental noise team, taking ownership of projects from inception through to delivery. Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting environmental noise and vibration assessments

  • Noise modelling using industry-standard software (e.g., CadnaA, SoundPLAN)

  • Baseline monitoring, including site visits and data analysis

  • Preparing high-quality technical reports and documentation for planning applications

  • Liaising with clients, regulatory bodies, and multi-disciplinary project teams

  • Supporting junior team members and contributing to project delivery strategy

Candidate Requirements

We’re seeking a technically capable and commercially aware consultant with the following background:

  • Degree in Acoustics or a relevant discipline (e.g., Physics, Environmental Science with acoustics content)

  • Experience in Acoustic Consultancy 

  • Proficient in noise modelling software and reporting standards

  • Strong understanding of relevant British Standards and planning guidance

  • Full UK driving licence

  • IOA membership (Associate or Full)
