Senior / Principal Transport Planner

£45,000 - £55,000

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a broad range of development-led transport planning projects, working closely with clients, local authorities and internal design teams. The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, contribute to business growth, and support the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Project management of schemes, including budget and programme control
• Preparation, review and occasional approval of technical reports including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and Technical Notes
• Completion and review of planning drawings (visibility splays, vehicle tracking, access design, etc.)
• Application of modelling packages and methodologies to determine trip generation and distribution
• Preparation of appeal documentation, including Statements of Case and Statements of Common Ground
• Client and local authority liaison
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members
• Attendance at public consultations, project meetings, appeal hearings and Local Highway Authority meetings
• Preparation of fee proposals and tender submissions

Requirements

• Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience)
• Membership of a relevant professional organisation
• Minimum 5+ years’ transport planning experience
• Strong understanding and application of national design guidance
• Ability to prioritise workload and delegate effectively
