Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

A growing building services consultancy based in Birmingham is looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its expanding team.

Specialising in mechanical, electrical, and environmental design, the business delivers energy-efficient, sustainable solutions across a wide range of sectors, supporting clients on their journey towards net zero and future-ready buildings.

The role:
• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services across sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, and mixed-use
• Take projects from concept through to detailed design and construction stages
• Produce technical drawings, specifications, and reports using industry-standard tools
• Carry out engineering calculations to ensure systems are efficient, compliant, and cost-effective
• Integrate low and zero carbon technologies into design solutions
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and project teams, clearly communicating technical concepts
• Provide technical leadership and support coordination across disciplines

Desirable:
• Chartered or working towards Chartership (CIBSE, IMechE or similar)
• Experience with low-carbon technologies and renewable systems
• Knowledge of building performance modelling
 • Previous mentoring or leadership experience
