Contracts Manager – Fit-Out / Interiors (Education Projects)

I’m working with a well-established interiors and fit-out contractor who specialise in education refurbishments, and they’re looking for a Contracts Manager to join their team.

This is a key hire for them following a recent restructuring, so they’re looking for someone who can come in and take ownership of projects quickly.

The Role

  • Overseeing multiple fit-out projects at once (mainly within schools)
  • Managing project delivery from pre-start through to completion
  • Working closely with Project Managers and site teams
  • Ensuring programme, quality and standards are met across all jobs
  • Based in the office in Preston, with site visits as required

The work is fast-paced, particularly over the summer period, and largely centres around school refurbishments, kitchens, food tech areas and general interiors.

What They’re Looking For

  • Strong joinery/carpentry background (essential)
  • Experience within fit-out / interiors projects
  • Confident managing multiple projects at once
  • Someone practical who understands how jobs are actually delivered
  • Ideally SMSTS (or similar), with general H&S knowledge

They want someone who is hands-on, organised, and able to deal with the realities of running several jobs at once rather than a purely “office-based” manager.
