The Opportunity

A growing and highly respected IT solutions provider is expanding its technical team and is on the lookout for a talented Technical Consultant to join the journey. You’ll be working with a diverse client base across SMEs, helping to support, improve, and future-proof their IT environments.

What You’ll Be Doing- Technical Consultant

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll split your time between deep technical support and exciting project work:

  • Delivering 3rd line support across a wide range of technologies (remote, phone & email)
  • Troubleshooting and monitoring live client environments
  • Designing and implementing infrastructure improvements and projects
  • Managing and maintaining core systems (servers, networks, cloud, security)
  • Taking ownership of issues – from first escalation through to resolution
  • Working with third-party vendors and partners
  • Keeping documentation sharp and clients informed

What They’re Looking For- Technical Consultant

  • You’re someone who thrives on solving problems, enjoys variety, and takes pride in delivering great service.
  • Experience in a 3rd line role, ideally within an MSP environment
  • Strong communication skills – you can talk tech and translate it
  • Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable managing your own workload
  • A genuine passion for IT and continuous learning

Your Technical Toolkit

You don’t need to tick every box, but experience in most of the following will set you up for success

  • Microsoft stack (Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Office 365, Azure/Entra)
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, networking fundamentals
  • Virtualisation (VMware / Hyper-V)
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
  • Exchange (on-prem & hybrid)
  • Backup & disaster recovery (e.g. Veeam, Datto)
  • Networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VLANs, Wi-Fi)
  • Security tools & best practices (Defender, Intune, EDR, MFA, etc.)
  • Storage solutions (SAN/NAS/DAS)
  • Bonus points for MacOS, iOS, Android experience
