A leading independent planning consultancy is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Chartered Town Planner to join its growing team in Hampshire. The opportunity is open to candidates at Associate or Principal Planner level, depending on experience.

This is an excellent role for a planner ready to take the lead on a wide-ranging portfolio of development projects, and to play a visible part in business development across the Southeast and Southwest.

 The Role:

The successful candidate will take ownership of multiple planning projects — from early-stage appraisal through to submission, negotiation, and appeal — while supporting the ongoing growth of the regional office.

There is also a strong emphasis on client engagement, team mentorship, and contributing to the broader strategic direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage planning applications, appraisals, and appeals
• Provide expert advice to clients across residential, commercial, leisure, and energy sectors
• Represent clients at committee, hearings, and inquiries
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal development
• Actively support business development and client relationship management

Candidate Requirements:

• MRTPI-qualified
• Demonstrable experience in the UK planning system, ideally within consultancy
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage client expectations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Full UK driving licence (exceptions may be considered)
• A proactive, confident, and collaborative approach
