Structural Engineer
Location: Exeter
Salary: Competitive (DOE)

A well-established and highly regarded structural and civil engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their team due to a strong and varied project pipeline.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you will be involved in a diverse range of projects across the private, commercial and public sectors, from structural surveys and investigations through to delivering structural solutions for complex and historic building projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Structural design using commonly used construction materials and building forms

• Carrying out structural surveys and site inspections

• Producing structural calculations and technical reports

• Preparing drawings and sketches using AutoCAD and by hand

• Assisting with new client enquiries and preparing fee proposals

Requirements

• BSc / BEng / MSc / MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering

• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a structural design engineer

• Strong understanding of structural behaviour and engineering principles

• Ability to apply creative and practical solutions to engineering problems

Desirable

• Chartered or working towards chartership

• Experience with structural timber design

• Interest in historic buildings and conservation projects

• Interest in sustainable and energy-efficient building design
