Urban Planner – Telford (Hybrid, 3 Days in Office)
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum (DOE)

A leading planning consultancy is seeking a talented Urban Planner to join their team based in Telford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a planning professional to contribute to a variety of dynamic and high-profile projects across the region.

The role offers a hybrid working model, with three days per week in the Telford office and the remainder remote.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering a wide range of planning services, including site appraisals, development planning, and application submissions. Working closely with local authorities, developers, and stakeholders, the Urban Planner will help shape sustainable and inclusive communities across Shropshire and the West Midlands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation and management of planning applications for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
• Undertaking site assessments and feasibility studies.
• Liaising with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.
• Supporting the preparation of local plans and planning policy documents.
• Assisting in mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to the overall success of the planning team

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related discipline.
• Be MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership.
• A Minimum of 2 years’ planning experience in either the public or private sector.
• A strong understanding of UK planning legislation and frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
