Senior Civil Technician

A growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Technician to join its expanding infrastructure team in Welwyn Garden City. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to take a leading role in the delivery of major infrastructure and development projects across sectors including residential, logistics, commercial, industrial and data centres.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

• Producing detailed civil engineering drawings and 3D design models using Civil 3D and related software
• Preparing highway, drainage and utility infrastructure designs in line with UK standards and best practice
• Supporting technical approvals and construction detail packages
• Coordinating design information across multidisciplinary teams
• Liaising with clients, consultants, contractors and local authorities
• Managing project documentation and ensuring QA standards are maintained
• Supporting and mentoring junior technicians and graduates
• Assisting engineers with project delivery and technical reporting

Requirements

• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Strong experience within a civil infrastructure consultancy environment
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD
• Experience in highways, drainage and infrastructure design
• Knowledge of MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage and Vehicle Tracking software is desirable
• Strong understanding of UK design standards and regulations
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Ability to manage workload across multiple projects and deadlines
• Experience mentoring junior team members is advantageous
