A specialist transport planning consultancy with a strong reputation in the development sector is looking to bring a Graduate Transport Planner into its Oxford team.

This appointment is aimed at an ambitious graduate seeking practical consultancy experience within a growing, close-knit practice. The role offers a clearly structured training period, exposure to active development projects from day one, and a defined pathway for career progression.

The Position

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced transport and infrastructure professionals, supporting the delivery of planning-related transport advice for residential, commercial, and mixed-use schemes.

During the first 12–18 months, you will gain experience across:

  • Preparation of Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plans
  • Review of site access arrangements, junction strategies and parking provision
  • Interpretation of local and national transport planning policy
  • Traffic data analysis using TRICS and other modelling tools (with mentoring and training)
  • Review of masterplans and architectural layouts, including involvement with CAD-based design input

About You

  • Degree educated in a relevant discipline (e.g. Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering or similar)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical thinker with a careful, detail-focused approach
  • Organised and capable of managing tasks across multiple projects
  • Motivated by development planning, infrastructure and sustainable mobility
  • Comfortable working collaboratively while also taking initiative independently
