A specialist transport planning consultancy with a strong reputation in the development sector is looking to bring a Graduate Transport Planner into its Oxford team.
This appointment is aimed at an ambitious graduate seeking practical consultancy experience within a growing, close-knit practice. The role offers a clearly structured training period, exposure to active development projects from day one, and a defined pathway for career progression.
The Position
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced transport and infrastructure professionals, supporting the delivery of planning-related transport advice for residential, commercial, and mixed-use schemes.
During the first 12–18 months, you will gain experience across:
- Preparation of Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plans
- Review of site access arrangements, junction strategies and parking provision
- Interpretation of local and national transport planning policy
- Traffic data analysis using TRICS and other modelling tools (with mentoring and training)
- Review of masterplans and architectural layouts, including involvement with CAD-based design input
About You
- Degree educated in a relevant discipline (e.g. Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering or similar)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical thinker with a careful, detail-focused approach
- Organised and capable of managing tasks across multiple projects
- Motivated by development planning, infrastructure and sustainable mobility
- Comfortable working collaboratively while also taking initiative independently
