Senior Building Structures Design Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Building Structures Design Engineer to join a busy and growing structural engineering team based in Brentford.

This role would suit a Chartered or near-Chartered Structural Engineer who is looking to take ownership of a varied portfolio of building structures projects, work directly with clients and play a key role in the successful delivery of projects from inception through to completion.

The Role

You will be responsible for running your own projects, providing high-quality structural design solutions and liaising directly with clients, architects, contractors and other members of the project team.

The position offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of building structures projects and materials. Alongside the technical aspects of the role, you will have responsibility for project delivery, including the effective management and control of project budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver building structures projects from concept through to completion.

• Undertake structural analysis and design across a range of materials.

• Liaise directly with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants.

• Manage project programmes, resources and budgets.

• Take responsibility for the technical quality and successful delivery of projects.

• Support and mentor less experienced engineers.

• Contribute to the continued development of the structural engineering team.

About You

We are looking for an experienced structural engineer who is confident taking ownership of projects and developing strong client relationships.

You should have:

• Chartered status or be close to achieving Chartered status.

• Strong experience in building structures design.

• The ability to design confidently in any structural material.

• Experience managing projects and taking responsibility for budgets and delivery.

• Strong communication and client-facing skills.

• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider team.

• A commercially aware and practical approach to engineering design.
