Equipment Engineer Manager (EPI)
Position Summary
An established semiconductor manufacturer in Hillsboro, OR is seeking an experienced Equipment Engineer Manager to lead the EPI equipment maintenance team. This role oversees engineers, technicians, and contracted service providers to ensure 24/7 support across fabrication operations. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvements in equipment reliability, cost efficiency, and overall team performance while fostering a safe and positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to equipment engineers, technicians, and contractors to support manufacturing operations.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and cost control.
- Coordinate priorities between manufacturing, engineering, and equipment support functions.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing workforce through effective communication and role modeling.
- Administer policies and manage resources to optimize operational efficiency.
- Track and report performance metrics related to equipment availability, yield, and output.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, cost, and employee development.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 8–10 years of semiconductor equipment maintenance experience, preferably including epitaxy tools.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical expertise with advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex operations and communicate across all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Ability to work in a 24-hour operational environment.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced setting.
