Join a growing children’s residential provider as Registered Manager overseeing two specialist three‑bed homes for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) in Slough.
The successful candidate will stabilise standards, lead improvements, and support planned expansion (additional homes anticipated).
There is a clear progression pathway toward regional/operations leadership for an ambitious manager.
Hold the statutory Registered Manager accountability for the quality, safety, and compliance of both homes.
Lead, coach, and develop staff to deliver child‑centred, therapeutic care for children with EBD.
Design and drive improvement plans to address regulatory findings and raise inspection ratings.
Oversee admissions, placement matching, risk assessments, and care planning for 3‑bed homes.
Maintain accurate records, notifications, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Manage budgets, staffing rotas, and resource allocation across homes.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with local authorities, safeguarding partners, and other stakeholders.
Support new home registration activity and contribute to expansion planning.
Mentor and prepare to step into a Regional/Operations Manager role within ~12 months, if appropriate.
Proven experience as a Registered Manager, or immediate readiness to register, in children’s residential care.
Demonstrable experience managing services for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
Track record in leading regulatory improvement work (e.g., addressing areas rated Requires Improvement).
Strong leadership, people management, and performance‑management skills.
Thorough knowledge of safeguarding, relevant legislation, and inspection frameworks.
Ability to manage budgets, staffing, and multi‑site operations; flexible for on‑call duties.
Eligible to register as a Registered Manager and willingness to undertake DBS and other statutory checks.
Experience preparing homes for registration and opening new children’s homes.
Previous experience progressing into regional or operations leadership roles.
Leadership qualification (e.g., Level 5 Diploma or equivalent).
