We are recruiting on behalf of a growing engineering consultancy based in Devon looking to appoint a Civil Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a range of roads, drainage, and infrastructure projects, with the chance to take on real responsibility and progress your career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will play an important role in the design and delivery of civil engineering schemes, working alongside engineers, technicians, and project stakeholders to deliver projects from initial concept through to completion.

The Role

• Undertake design work for roads, drainage, and infrastructure projects
• Prepare Section 104, Section 38 and Section 278 technical submissions
• Act as a key point of contact on projects, coordinating with clients and project teams
• Manage the design and technical deliverables across civil engineering schemes
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians within the team
• Review and check other engineers’ designs while also contributing hands-on design work
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and statutory authorities
• Attend site meetings and inspections when required
• Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines within the consultancy
• Report directly to the Director of Engineering

Candidate Requirements

• BEng, MSc or equivalent in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 2 years’ experience within a civil engineering design consultancy
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, Civil 3D and PDS
• Experience with SuDS design, Flood Risk Assessments, DMRB, and highways design
• Strong understanding of Section 278, Section 104 and Section 38 adoption procedures
• Self-motivated with the ability to lead projects and manage teams effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Chartered or working towards Chartership is desirable but not essential
• Full clean driving licence beneficial
