A well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Mechanical Engineer to join its team, with options to be based in London, Chichester or Kent.

The consultancy delivers building services engineering solutions across a broad range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare and leisure, working on projects from concept through to completion.

The Role

The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative mechanical engineering team, contributing to the design and delivery of building services across a varied project portfolio. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing mechanical building services systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning and public health
  • Producing technical calculations, specifications and reports
  • Developing designs using relevant modelling and CAD software (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD)
  • Carrying out site visits, surveys and inspections
  • Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other members of the design team
  • Ensuring designs comply with current building regulations and industry standards
  • Supporting more junior members of the team as required

About You

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience working within a building services or MEP consultancy
  • Working knowledge of HVAC and public health design
  • Ideal experience within sectors such as residential, commercial, healthcare and industrial
  • Familiarity with Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • Working toward or holding professional membership (e.g. CIBSE) is desirable
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
