Senior Sustainability Consultant – Energy

The Role

This is a key position within an established sustainability team, offering a mix of project delivery, technical leadership, and client engagement.

The successful candidate will take ownership of smaller projects while supporting the delivery of larger, complex schemes, contributing to energy strategy development and building performance analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering small to medium-sized projects independently
• Supporting senior team members on large-scale developments
• Leading workshops with clients and design teams
• Managing and reviewing work produced by junior team members
• Supporting the training and development of less experienced colleagues
• Undertaking modelling and analysis including building performance simulation, operational energy, and overheating assessments
• Leading the development of energy strategies
• Supporting net zero and whole life carbon objectives across projects
• Contributing to research, innovation, and industry engagement initiatives

Key areas of experience may include:

• Energy strategy development
• Part L compliance using tools such as IES and Elmhurst
• NABERS UK modelling
• Operational and in-use energy analysis
• Dynamic simulation modelling for overheating and thermal comfort

Candidate Profile

• Experience working within a sustainability or building performance consultancy
• Degree in a relevant engineering or environmental discipline
• Strong understanding of London planning requirements
• Chartered status (or working towards)
• Confident leading workshops and engaging with multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication skills and ability to present technical information clearly
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
• Passion for sustainability and delivering practical, low-carbon solutions
