Run the plant workshop at a plant hire company in West Bromwich. Fixed hours, no weekends, no standard overtime.

We want a Workshop Foreman to run the workshop day to day. You might be a workshop foreman, supervisor or lead fitter now. Or you might be a plant fitter or chargehand ready for your first foreman job. Either way, we’ll look at you.

The company hires out excavators, dumpers, telehandlers and rollers. It has its own transport and GPS machine control.

The job

• Give the plant fitters and technicians their work each day

• Keep jobs moving through the plant workshop

• Check the fitters’ work before plant goes back out on hire

• Set and hold the quality standards in the workshop

What you need

• A hands-on plant fitter background, in plant machinery or plant hire

• Some experience leading others, as a workshop foreman, supervisor, lead fitter or chargehand

What you get

• Fixed hours of 42.5 a week, Monday to Friday. No standard overtime and no weekend work, so you know your week

• You run the plant workshop day to day. You decide who does what and you check the work before it goes out

Good to know: this is a working foreman role, so you’ll be hands-on as well as running the team. It’s on site in West Bromwich, 7:30am–5:00pm. There’s no standard overtime, so the basic is what you earn.
