A leading employee-owned planning consultancy is currently seeking a highly experienced RTPI Chartered Town Planner to take on the role of Associate Director in either their Bedford or Rugby office.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected and growing team, working across a diverse portfolio of private and public sector development projects — including residential, specialist housing, and commercial schemes.

As Associate Director, the successful candidate will:

• Lead on a range of planning projects including applications, site promotions, appeals, local plan work, hearings, and public inquiries
• Support and supervise junior team members
• Maintain and grow the firm’s client base in the East Midlands and East of England
• Develop new business opportunities through networking and relationship management
• Contribute to high-profile infrastructure and development projects, particularly in the renewables, residential, and commercial sectors

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• MRTPI-qualified, with 8–10+ years' post-qualification experience
• Strong background in private sector planning consultancy
• Proven ability to manage complex applications and planning strategy
• Experience engaging directly with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders
• Confident in leading teams and contributing to business growth
• Holds a full UK driving licence
