We’re working with a leading provider within the utilities sector who are expanding their training team. They are looking for someone with hands-on experience in gas, utilities, construction, excavation, or similar practical environments who is confident, people‑focused, and keen to develop into a training and assessment career.

What will you be doing?

  • Supporting the delivery of practical and classroom-based training (full training given)
  • Assisting with assessments and contributing to the development of training materials
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure training reflects real‑world conditions
  • Liaising with quality assurance teams to help maintain high training standards
  • Supporting responses to customer enquiries alongside sales and marketing teams

What you don't need:

  • Previous training or assessing experience
  • Teaching qualifications
  • Formal training certifications

Full training and professional development will be provided, including the opportunity to gain recognised teaching and assessing qualifications.

What you will need:

  • Practical experience within utilities, gas, construction, groundwork, or a similar field
  • A good understanding of safe working practices
  • Confidence when communicating with different types of learners
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask
  • A personable, approachable manner and a passion for developing others

Desired (but not essential—training can be provided):

  • Experience with gas mains/services, pressure systems, or excavation work
  • Knowledge of trench support, deep excavations, or similar operational tasks
  • Awareness of relevant industry standards (NRSWA, SCO, PE welding etc.)
